Sustainable Living

Ok so down the track after I go on my working trip around Australia and some travel overseas, I would love to be able to own my own little plot of land with a house and be able to live as much as possible of grid and growing as much of my own vegetable and fruit as I can. I would also like to learn more about sustainable living and reusing items and maybe creating new items out of things that would normally end up in landfill. I already try my best to not purchase fruit and vegetable that are prepackaged, and do not purchase water in those plastic throw away bottles.

So my goal on being able to sustainable living is to grow as much produce as I can, have solar panels and other means for power so do not have to rely on power from the grid, have water tanks to collect rain water, set up a greywater system for watering plants and lawns, have some chickens for the awesome fresh eggs. I would also like to start making my own bread which I could start now. Which is easier to make bread, in a bread maker or in the oven? I will have to try both, oven first as I don’t have a bread maker yet.

So, who else wants to be able to live sustainably or already does I would love to hear how and what you do to achieve it and any hints and tips would be great. tiffanyd@wildlivity.com
